We're a group of everyday people in the Finger Lakes region of NY doing our part to take action for racial.
We look forward to meeting you! Please get in touch and we'll respond with the date of our next meeting/gathering to see if you can make it.
The Finger Lakes Peoples Union is not partisan. The organization exists as a Union of People, in the same way a Union of Workers would and is more leftist/socialist in nature.
In that light, FLPU stands for humanity, civil rights, positive stewardship of nature, fighting fascism, freeing all oppressed peoples, and ending imperial occupation everywhere.
We are affiliated with and take guidance from SURJ National for broad efforts. Locally, we design our own path in the Finger Lakes region.
FLPU members take direct action through protests, walk-outs, letter writing, phone-banking, mutual aid, canvasing, and building community.
The Organization offers skill-sharing classes, political education, community meetings, and a regional food program.
SURJ Values
SURJ’s values ground our work and have been developed and honed over more than a decade of organizing. We believe we must have an inclusive, openhearted approach to organizing— bringing more and more people into this work rather than creating barriers to participation— while maintaining clear commitments to justice.
