FLPU strengthens our community by donating to food stores and those in need throughout the year.
The Community Food Program is not a short-lived food drive, as we strive for weekly participation.
If you're interested in participating, follow the suggestions below:
- Locate a nearby food bank, sharing shed, blessing box, free pantry, or person in need of food.
- If you need help finding someone to support, reach out and we'll help!
- Donate some nonperishable food items.
- Socks, Underwear, and toiletries are also great items to donate.
- Consider the weather so things do not freeze and/or burst.
- Consider providing food that is easier to prepare as not everyone has the same access to cooking supplies.
- This occurs every week! There is always need, and everyone's schedule is different so work around what works for you.
- The goal is to provide a reliable network for food stocks. The free pantries and food banks are great, but they need food! It's our role to provide that food.
- This is a simple, low-commitment action with direct benefit.
- Any amount of participation make an impact, just get up and get out there!
